Not at all.
You don’t need any formal music education or prior experience to join this course or become a DJ.
You absolutely can start learning from YouTube or free DJ courses, and many DJs do begin that way. But keep in mind:
This course is designed to give you more than just knowledge — it’s about practice, mentorship, and real-world training that builds your confidence from the ground up.
Not at all — this course covers the entire A–Z of becoming a DJ.
It’s much more than just mixing skills.
What you’ll learn includes:
By the end, you’ll have both the technical skills and the strategic knowledge to move forward in your DJ journey.
You don’t need to purchase any DJ equipment to participate — everything essential will be provided during the course. However, you will need your own headset.
We will be training on VirtualDJ 2026 Pro Edition, a powerful and versatile platform widely used by both beginner and professional DJs.
Why VirtualDJ?
It offers a user-friendly interface, advanced mixing features, and strong compatibility with various hardware setups — making it ideal for learning.
During the course, we’ll also review the pros and cons of other major DJ software available on the market, such as:
• Serato DJ
• Rekordbox
• Traktor Pro
• Djay Pro
This way, you’ll be equipped to make an informed decision about which software best suits your style and future needs before investing in one.
You will be training on a variety of DJ mixers, controllers, all-in-one units, and professional decks (CDJs), depending on equipment availability at the learning facility.
The equipment is mostly from the Pioneer range, the most widely used DJ brand worldwide.
This ensures you gain hands-on experience with industry-standard gear, preparing you for real-world performances in clubs, events, and professional settings.
No, you don’t need to bring a laptop. You’ll be using your instructor’s laptop, which is fully equipped for professional DJ training with a licensed copy of both VirtualDJ 2026 Pro Edition and Rekordbox.
As well as a large, curated music library and DJ-specific music streaming subscriptions for real-time access to tracks.
However if you already have a laptop and want to ask questions or get feedback from your instructor, feel free to bring it along.
Not immediately — becoming a professional DJ takes time, practice, and real-world experience. This course is designed to give you a strong foundation, but your journey will continue beyond the classroom.
Reality check: You won’t walk into big parties or high-paying gigs right away. Most DJs start as mobile DJs, performing at private events, small venues, or local gatherings.
What matters most:
• Consistent practice
• Building your confidence and style
• Gaining live experience — and that’s exactly what this course is here to help you with.
With dedication and the right mindset, you’ll be equipped to grow your skills and move up in the DJ world step by step.
Absolutely — this course is all about hands-on practice and real improvement. After completing the theory and technique modules, the focus shifts entirely to live DJing.
You’ll work directly on professional equipment, replicating the moves and techniques demonstrated by your instructor.
This immersive approach ensures you develop muscle memory, confidence, and the ability to perform in real-world scenarios.
There might as well be opportunities for practice sessions in a live environment, along with your instructor, if he estimates that you have already achieved a sufficient level to perform in public.
Depending on the program chosen, it will take 10 or 20 hours to complete the course. This doesn’t include at home exercices and practice time.
Each training session lasts a minimum of 2hrs and maximum of 4hrs, depending on student, instructor and training facility availabilities.
There is technically no minimum age to become a DJ — creativity and passion can start early! That said, most young DJs begin around age 12 or older, when they can better grasp the equipment and concepts.
Under 18?
If you’re below 18 years old, you must be accompanied by a parent or adult legal guardian at all times during the course. This ensures a safe and supportive learning environment while still allowing young talents to explore their potential.
Unfortunately, no — filming the instructor or course material is not allowed due to intellectual property protections.
However:
